A Buyers' Club for Sustainable Transport
Shaping the Future of Zero-Emission Freight Transport
ClubLeap is a global Buyers' Club and collaborative platform driving the decarbonization of freight. By uniting companies of all sizes, we co-invest in clean logistics solutions that make zero and near-zero emission transport achievable, practical, and cost-effective.

What is ClubLeap?
ClubLeap is CarbonLeap’s Buyers’ Club and a community that helps businesses of all sizes take part in impactful decarbonization projects across air, marine, road and railways. By joining forces, members can co-invest in clean logistics solutions that would otherwise be out of reach due to limited scale or purchasing power.
ClubLeap aggregates cargo owners' interest in green transport corridors. By combining their financial commitments to reduce transport related emissions, the premium that carriers pay for low-carbon fuels can be shared: making sustainable transport more affordable while enabling both carrier and cargo owner to claim their respective Scope 1 and Scope 3 emission reductions.
This approach allows companies not only to cut their emissions, but also to contribute directly to large-scale projects that make sustainable transport a reality. Their investment becomes visible, measurable, and impactful.
All ClubLeap projects deliver:
Credible emission reductions
Verified Scope 3 reductions by recognized verifier such as DNV Maritime Advisory.
Recognized registration
Listing in trusted registries such as the CarbonBank, ensuring full traceability and credibility of impact.
Robust reporting
Enabling members to confidently demonstrate measurable progress toward their ESG and net-zero goals.
Framework alignment
Following the latest and emerging standards of leading frameworks.
ClubLeap works with existing partners, welcomes new ones and acts as an exclusive demand aggregator for multiple global initiatives. This opens the door for companies that usually lack the scale or access to join ambitious decarbonization projects, while benefiting from the economies of scale created by global leaders such as Amazon, IKEA, and Patagonia.

CHALLENGES
If aviation were a country, it would rank among the world's top 10 emitters.

Maritime shipping carries 80% of global trade and generates ~3% of global GHG emissions, underscoring the need to decarbonize.
Heavy duty trucking is responsible for nearly a quarter of road transport emissions, but less than 1% of trucks sold today are electric.

We are off track to meet 2030 and 2050 climate goals: urgent action is needed.
Turning Barriers into Impact
By aggregating demand for clean freight transport, ClubLeap transforms fragmented ambition into measurable impact, accelerating the transition towards zero emission logistics.
Impactful reduction
Co-invest in large-scale decarbonization projects to achieve greater emission reductions than any single freight buyer could accomplish alone.
Equal access for all companies
Regardless of size or transport volume, gain access to take part in high-impact initiatives alongside global leaders.
Cost-efficiency through economies of scale
Combine purchasing power across members to make clean logistics more accessible and affordable.
Market confidence for long-term investment
Provide carriers and fuel producers with the financial certainty and demand visibility needed to invest in next-generation technologies and infrastructure.

Opportunities

ZEMBA
The world's first commercial e-fuel shipping routes
The Zero-Emission Maritime Buyers Alliance (ZEMBA), a non-profit initiative of the Aspen Institute, is a buyers group to create a competitive market for the most sustainable, scalable, and economically viable fuel and technology solutions for maritime transport.
ZEMBA aggregates demand from major cargo owners to advance clean energy-powered shipping solutions. While participation is typically limited to large corporations with sufficient scale, CarbonLeap serves as the exclusive representative for companies that may lack the size or direct access to join ZEMBA’s initiatives.
Through this partnership, we enable a broader range of freight buyers to take part in global clean shipping efforts and collectively drive market transformation. Together, we aim to:
- Accelerate deployment of clean energy-powered shipping by giving carriers and fuel producers the market confidence needed to invest and scale new solutions.
- Access high integrity environmental attributes with 90% lower lifecycle emissions compared to conventional shipping lines.
- Enable economies of scale for freight buyers and suppliers, especially for fuels and tech with potential to scale and decrease in cost over time.
- Maximize emissions reduction potential beyond what any one freight buyer could accomplish alone.
Freight buyers can influence the transition by supporting scalable fuel and technology alternatives, focusing investment on those with the promise of cost reductions with scale.

GMA Trucking
Zero-emission heavy-duty road freight
The Center for Green Market Activation (GMA), in collaboration with the Smart Freight Centre, is advancing one of the first large-scale deployments of zero-emission Class 8 trucks powered by battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell technologies. GMA aggregates demand from leading cargo-owning companies to accelerate the shift toward zero-emission road transport.
While participation in large-scale pilot projects is typically limited to large companies, CarbonLeap, through ClubLeap, provides access for companies that may not have the scale or direct connections to engage independently. Members can access the verified environmental value of low-emission trucking via a trusted book-and-claim system, enabling credible Scope 3 emission reductions and supporting market transformation.
Together, we aim to:
- Accelerate deployment of low- emission trucking by giving fleet operators the market confidence needed to invest and scale new technologies.
- Access high-integrity environmental attributes representing low-emission freight with verified Scope 3 reductions.
- Enable economies of scale for freight buyers, supporting cost reductions and wider adoption over time.
- Maximize emissions reduction potential beyond what any single company could achieve alone.
By broadening participation and aggregating demand, ClubLeap make it possible for all freight buyers to play a measurable role in driving the clean road freight transition.
