CarbonLeap is Officially B Corp Certified
We're proud to share that CarbonLeap is now a Certified B Corporation, joining a global movement of companies that believe business can (and should) be a force for good.
This certification recognises companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. For us, it's an important milestone because it confirms the values that have guided us from the very beginning.
"Becoming a Certified B Corporation is a proud milestone for CarbonLeap. It reflects the values that guide our work every day; integrity, accountability, and a commitment to real climate impact. This certification reinforces our mission to help companies decarbonise their supply chains in a measurable and responsible way, turning climate ambition into action for the planet, our partners, and our people."
What is B Corp?
B Lab, the non-profit organisation behind B Corp Certification, puts it best:
Our most challenging problems can't be solved by governments and nonprofits alone. For-profit businesses play a critical role in shaping our future. B Corps are for-profit companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
B Corps use the power of business to do more than seek profit. They use their profits and growth to positively impact their stakeholders — and the planet.
There are now more than 10,000 Certified B Corporations across 100+ countries and over 160 industries. What unites them is a shared belief: that long-term success comes from balancing profit with responsibility to people, communities, and the environment.
Why is B Corp Important to Us?
At CarbonLeap, we've always believed that climate ambition only matters if it leads to real change.
We help companies reduce their Scope 1 and Scope 3 emissions through carbon insetting, decarbonising supply chains from the inside, with a strong focus on transport. Our work is rooted in the idea that the most meaningful climate impact happens within your own value chain, not far away from it.
That belief has shaped how we work with clients, how we build partnerships, and how we think about impact. Becoming B Corp certified is a natural extension of that approach.
It holds us accountable, not just to our customers, but to our team, our partners, our community, and the planet. It's a public commitment that we're building a company that doesn't just talk about impact, but takes responsibility for how it creates it.
The Certification Process
Becoming a B Corp involves a rigorous, multi-step process:
- 1.B Impact Assessment: a comprehensive evaluation covering Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.
- 2.Scoring: CarbonLeap earned an overall B Impact Score of 86.8, well above the 80 points required for certification. The median score for ordinary businesses completing the assessment is 50.9, highlighting the stringent standards.
- 3.Verification: B Lab reviews submitted evidence and may request additional documentation or interviews.
- 4.Legal commitment: updating governing documents to ensure decisions consider all stakeholders, not just shareholders.
What Were the Challenges?
Becoming a Certified B Corporation was a rigorous and energising journey for the CarbonLeap team. One of the biggest challenges was mapping our impact across all assessment areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. We had to collect, evaluate, and formalise existing practices, ensuring that everything from internal processes to policies reflected the values we already lived by.
Another challenge was embedding these practices into formal company documents. Updating policies and governance structures to align with B Corp requirements required careful attention, reflection, and collaboration across the team. While demanding, the process was energising: it strengthened internal alignment, clarified how we create impact, and gave the team a shared sense of purpose.
What Are We Committing To?
B Corp certification is a milestone, not a finish line. For CarbonLeap, it is a public commitment to continue building accountability and impact into every part of our business. Moving forward, we are dedicated to:
- •Continuous improvement in all impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers
- •Embedding stakeholder considerations into decision-making and formal policies
- •Maintaining transparency through our public B Corp profile
- •Driving measurable climate impact by supporting clients to reduce emissions across their supply chains
This certification formalises what we have always believed: that climate ambition is only meaningful when it is accountable, measurable, and embedded in how a company operates.
